A second look at the whole plan

You may already have investments. The question is whether everything still fits.

Retirement planning can become fragmented over time. One person handles investments. Another handles tax. Estate documents sit in a file. Major decisions then get made without seeing the full picture.

Old structures

Your arrangements may have been set up years ago and never reviewed together.

Disconnected decisions

Income, tax, investments and estate matters can pull in different directions.

Unclear advice

You may have an adviser but still feel unsure about the bigger retirement picture.

Market noise

Short-term uncertainty can make it tempting to delay decisions that need calm thought.

The first step is not moving anything.

It is understanding what you already have, what is working, and where gaps may exist. Sometimes that confirms you are already well positioned. Sometimes it uncovers matters that deserve attention. Either answer is useful.

The Finwell approach

Long-term thinking, with people who stay involved.

The work is built around three simple ideas.

Long-term investing

Decisions are made with the full journey in mind, not the latest headline.

Long-term relationships

Advice should evolve as your family, work and retirement needs change.

Long-term results

Good planning is usually the product of many sound decisions made over time.

Client experiences

Clear advice matters most when the decisions are personal.

In their own words, shared with permission.

I had a wonderful experience with Matthew. I am not financially savvy, and he broke down all explanations into easy-to-understand concepts. Clear and practical advice.

I was concerned about fees before moving across. What changed my mind was realising the value was not just investment performance, it was having someone help us make better decisions.
LynneFinwell client
The biggest thing for me was trust. They do what they say they will do, respond quickly, and are genuine experts in their field.
RoxanneFinwell client
I wanted an advisor who would tell me the truth, even when it was not what I wanted to hear. That honesty has been incredibly valuable.
KatherineFinwell client
I always worried that financial advisors were just trying to sell me something. Working with this team felt different from the first meeting. They explained things clearly, answered every question properly, and never pressured me into decisions.
JustinFinwell client
You helped me manage my planning step by step and importantly gave me clarity and direction.

Common questions

You should be comfortable before you take the next step.

I already have investments and an adviser. Why would I change anything?

You may not need to change anything. The first purpose is to check whether your current investments, structures and planning still suit where you are today. If they do, that is useful to know. If gaps exist, Matthew can explain them before any recommendation is discussed.

How do I know this is not just a product sale?

The process starts with your life, cash flow, goals, risks and existing arrangements. A recommendation should only follow when it is suitable and improves your position.

What about fees and commissions?

Fees and any applicable remuneration will be explained clearly before you make a decision. You should understand what you are paying, what service you will receive and how the arrangement works.

Markets feel uncertain. Should I wait?

There will always be reasons to delay. Sound planning does not depend on predicting the next headline. It looks at your time horizon, income needs, liquidity and ability to stay invested through different conditions.

Who is this assessment for?

The first campaign is for people over 30, living within about 100 km of Cape Town, with at least R6 million in investable assets and a genuine wish to review their retirement plan now or within the next few months.
